With the Commonwealth Government’s announcement of Round Three funding allocations for Building the Education Revolution (BER) primary school projects, Laing O’Rourke field teams will again hit the road throughout Western NSW and the Riverina.
Our dedicated Field Teams will be on-site at Round Three schools from Monday 7th September to Friday 25th September, taking part in inspections with the School Principal to review the proposed location of work, assess site characteristics and identify specifics of the task at hand.
Once these visits are completed, the schematic design process can commence and the work can then be opened to tender for local delivery partners.
Laing O’Rourke’s Field Teams consist of specialist engineers (mechanical, civil, acoustic and geo-technical), architects, surveyors and services consultants for electrical, hydraulic and mechanical works. Many of these specialists are locally-based and bring important local expertise to the design process, as well as further supporting local employment which is the key objective of the Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan.
With more than 100 schools in Round 3 to visit across the two regions, Laing O’Rourke teams will be busy for the next three weeks gathering important information to enable these local works to proceed.
