The following School Community Engagement activities have been designed by Laing O’Rourke to provide a lasting legacy for the schoolchildren in Public Schools in the Western NSW and the Riverina Regions, during the ‘Building the Education Revolution - Primary Schools for the 21st Century’ Program.
As a Managing Contractor for the BER Program, we invite students, teachers and school communities in Western NSW and Riverina Region Public Schools to participate in the following Laing O’Rourke School Community Engagement initiatives.
Laing O’Rourke BER Project Art Competition
Public Schools in the Western NSW and Riverina Regions are invited to participate in a school co-ordinated Art Competition to celebrate and commemorate the BER Project in their school. A selected piece of artwork will be framed (in a Laing O'Rourke designed and supplied BER commemorative frame) and the artwork will be hung within or near to the new BER Project building to leave a lasting legacy in the school community.
Laing O'Rourke BER Time Lapse Showcase
Public School students / class groups in the Western NSW and Riverina Regions are invited to digitally capture the 'progressive build' of the BER Project in their school.
The Laing O'Rourke Giant Tetrahedron Challenge
Teams of students / class groups in Public Schools in the Western NSW and Riverina Regions are invited to demonstrate and experience team work, problem solving and communication skills required within the construction industry, to construct a Giant Tetrahedron far bigger than what could be achieved alone.

Laing O'Rourke Community Grants Scheme
As part of our EPIC Communities sustainability agenda, Laing O'Rourke is making Grants available to Community Organisations located in areas where Laing O'Rourke currently works.
